AFC Telford's Ross Dyer 'hungry' to make his mark
Striker Ross Dyer is "hungry" to make his mark at AFC Telford after joining on loan from Halifax until the end of the season.
The former Hednesford Town man, 26, has joined a Bucks side sitting bottom of the Conference Premier and nine points from safety before the start of today's game at Forest Green Rovers.
Dyer made the move from play-off chasing Halifax yesterday but insists he has no qualms about entering a relegation battle.
He said: "I will relish it. I spoke to the gaffer Steve Kittrick and I reiterated to him that I am hungry for it.
Help
"I want to come here and not only help myself but also to help Telford. I wasn't getting many opportunities at Halifax which I wasn't really happy with, and I am at the stage where I want to be playing games."
On the relegation fight, he added: "There is a big gap to make up but it is not something that is unachievable. From what I can see it is a strange one why Telford are down there.
"We shouldn't be where we are and hopefully that will show at the end of the season."
Kittrick believes Dyer will add extra height and strength to his attack, and has also highlighted the player's hold-up play as a major plus.
Dyer added: "I think I have got a lot of goals to offer as well which I haven't had the chance to show this year unfortunately. I can bring people into play but hopefully I will score some goals as well.
"My concentration and the gaffer's concentration will be on keeping Telford up. I am a local lad so I know Telford is a big club and it has got ambitions to stay in the Conference – and I want to help them achieve it."
On earning a contract, he added: "Obviously if I do well and Telford do well then it is something we could discuss in the summer. I definitely wouldn't be against it."
n Midfielder Sean Cooke has joined former club Nantwich Town on loan until the end of the season.
Cooke first joined the Dabbers in 2011 before joining AFC Fylde in February 2013 and the Telford in May of the same year.
But he was transfer listed earlier this month following a dressing room row with Kittrick.
