Manager won't wait on AFC Telford players
AFC Telford United manager Steve Kittrick won't wait forever for players to pledge their future to the New Bucks Head cause.
Kittrick met potential targets last Wednesday and after signing right-back Josh Brizell and midfielder Danny O'Callaghan on the night, has given the others time to decide on their offers.
But he won't hold off indefinitely, saying: "We have made offers to several players and they're going to come back to us.
"They may have other fish to fry, but we can only sell the club so much and they have to have that desire to want to be here.
"If, in a few days' time, a couple of them haven't signed then I might have to go somewhere else. There are a lot of lads around."
Kittrick warned his targets that holding out for more money would be a waste of time, adding: "We will not overpay for players.
"I will not just go for a 'name' player – they have to want to come to the club for the right reasons," he said.
One player who does seem to have the club at heart is 23-year-old Brizell, snapped up from Hyde.
Kittrick said: "He's played in the Conference and in Conference North. I've had good reports about him and have been impressed with him in the couple of times I've played against him.
"He was at Hyde for two or three seasons. They had one or two problems with getting relegated and then getting relegated again. But he stayed loyal to the club, he was professional."
