Kaiman Anderson ready for AFC Telford

Striker Kaiman Anderson insists he's ready for his first AFC Telford United start tomorrow.

The 18-year-old, on loan until January from Shrewsbury Town, is in line for his full National League North bow against former Championship side Stockport County, with Dave Hibbert injured.

Hibbert lasted just six minutes of his home debut in Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Curzon Ashton, before being forced off with a groin injury.

But his early exit allowed Anderson a taste of what's to come as he looks forward to getting longer on the pitch at the New Bucks Head.

The teenager said: "I'm getting there – on Tuesday I was thrown on a bit earlier than I expected, but that's what I want.

"Hopefully, 'Hibbo' will be alright because he's a big help to the team and he's a good leader, but if I get a chance to play from the start then that's what I want.

"It would be great to start and to run out in front of the fans. The supporters have been great to me - I've had a few positive comments on Twitter and I really appreciate that.

"I thought I did alright on Tuesday and coped with the physical side of it and running in behind the defenders."

Anderson has been sent to Telford to continue his development and he is still adjusting to senior men's football after two years as an academy scholar.

But he is relishing the experience, adding: "It's going alright – I'm slowly getting into it.

"It's a bit physical but I'm getting good experience – I'm getting used to playing in men's football and how senior players think and react."

After Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Lowestoft and a 0-0 draw at home to Curzon Ashton in midweek, Telford are still seeking their first win.

Fans took to social media to vent their frustrations after the opening setback in Suffolk, no doubt irritated by the departure of five summer signings and the team in last season's kit.

But Anderson believes everything will come together as a new team gels, saying: "I'm sure it will click, but we're a new team.

"We're all new players and, with a lot of games in pre-season, we haven't been able to train together regularly.

"But we're getting there – we got better on Tuesday – and I'm sure we'll turn it around with a few wins.

"Once we get that first win, it will kick-start our season and we'll be more free-flowing in our football.

"I think people need to be patient – it's a whole new team and very few of us have played together.

"From what I've seen, we have all the ingredients to be a good side at this level and all the signs of a team that can win promotion, but people have just got to be patient."

And Anderson followed boss Steve Kittrick's opinion when he also claimed there are no problems behind the scenes.

The young forward said: "We're all pulling together and the lads are getting used to each other and we're having good banter."
