Amadou is tipped to be Bucks' goal hero

AFC Telford United boss Steve Kittrick believes Amadou Bakayoko can break the club's goal hoodoo and become a hero.

The 19-year-old on-loan Walsall striker went close to a debut strike and scoring the club's first goal of the season in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Stockport County.

Now the Bucks attempt to find the net at the fourth time of asking when they go to Tamworth in the National North tonight.

And with talisman Dave Hibbert again missing with a groin injury, Kittrick reckons the Sierra Leone frontman can be the man to start a goals rush.

"I think it's down to confidence and once he gets one, he will keep scoring," said Kittrick.

"Fair play to him – he came here on Saturday and didn't know anyone but he knuckled down and played well and could have scored.

"Some lads take a while to settle but he has fitted straight in and has a good work ethic.

"He's like a younger version of 'Hibbo' – he works hard, he runs the channels and he's a good player.

"Like Kaiman Anderson, he's come from the full-time game and like Kaiman, he's got a good attitude – he knows if he shines here he could g back to his parent club and play in their first team. They show endeavour and their workrate is tremendous."

because they want to be professional footballers and they know if they do well here they will get that opportunity."

Tamworth have picked up seven points from nine available and Kittrick believes the Lamb will be challenging for promotion.

"I said before the start of the season that they'd be there or thereabouts and they're doing nothing I didn't expect from them," he said.

"They're a good side, they've signed some good players and it will be tough."

Winger Johnny Gorman (hamstrings) again misses out but isn't far from a return to action.

"I think he will be fit for Saturday," said Kittrick. "He's doing bits and bobs but unless he's 100 per cent fit I won't pick him - I don't like playing players who are 70-80 per cent fit."

Kittrick is due to speak to Jordan Goddard again today to see if the midfielder has attracted any interest after being made available.
