Dave Hibbert hits back at Frank Sinclair

AFC Telford United striker Dave Hibbert has hit back at Hednesford Town boss Frank Sinclair ahead of their re-arranged derby tonight.

Hibbert believes the former Chelsea defender showed a lack of class with his tweet criticising the decision to postpone their last game at the New Bucks Head two weeks ago.

The match, which was initially due to be played on January 2, was called off for a second time because of a waterlogged pitch.

Sinclair tweeted at the time: "Not sure who's calling the shots at @telfordutd but whoever it is, they need to shake their head big time, and see what comes out #joke"

Hibbert said: "He criticised the decision that the pitch was unplayable when clearly it wasn't (playable).

"We were on the back of a good result so to suggest we didn't want the game on is absolutely ridiculous. So for an experienced man like him, I'd have expected a bit more class, to be honest.

"I think it lacked class and with a man of his knowledge and standing in the game, I would have thought he'd be aware of that. But he wasn't so we're bang up for the game."

Telford remain bottom, but are on the same points as Hednesford who are one place higher and have two games in hand. Both are two points from safety.

And Hibbert reckons Telford, who have taken seven points from the last nine, are relishing the chance of revenge.

They lost 2-0 at Keys Park on Boxing Day in one of their most disappointing performances of the season.

He said: "Absolutely. It was a poor performance from us on Boxing Day and, in a derby, we should be playing lot better than that."

Hibbert is relishing the occasion as Hednesford are a 'lucky' opposition for him, after starring for Tamworth against them last season. He said: "I got four goals in two games against them."
