James Montgomery commits to AFC Telford

AFC Telford United goalkeeper James Montgomery has became the second Bucks star to commit to Rob Smith's side for next season.

The shot-stopper, 22, is based in the north-east but has become a popular figure in his time at the New Bucks Head.

Despite a finger injury at Hednesford Town on Boxing Day causing him to miss a spell of last season, he impressed upon return and was a large part of the club's survival bid in the National League North.

Montgomery joins Dwayne Samuels on the retained list for next season, while Rob Smith has also captured the signature of former defender Dan Preston.

Earlier today, long-serving player Sean Clancy became the eighth squad member to be released after talks with the Bucks boss.
