Rob Smith: More Telford effort needed all over
Boss Rob Smith believes AFC Telford United 'need to do more all over' following the 2-1 loss at Tamworth.
On an artificial playing surface at The Lamb Ground, the Bucks matched the hosts for large spells of the game but came away with nothing due to a stoppage-time Andy Morrell goal.
The result leaves Telford with just one point from three games so far in the National League North.
"At the end of the day, they've got the goal. We've had our chances and not put them away, they get a chance and it goes in," said Smith.
"We haven't quite done enough again which is really disappointing because we can argue that in all three games we've had, we might have deserved a little bit more.
"The bottom line though, from our point of view, is that we don't think we've done enough in the three games."
Before Morrell's winner, Danny Newton put the Lambs on top inside four minutes after being given too much time and space in the 18-yard box.
Telford quickly levelled through Tom Peers and the winger had a great chance to put them ahead just into the second period, but fluffed his lines.
"Following that performance, I think we need to do more all over really. The goals we gave away were shocking and there's no getting away from that," added Smith.
"So far all the praise they had the other day (at FC United of Manchester), those goals were abysmal.
"In midfield I thought we were second best, certainly in the first half. I thought we got out worked a little bit at times.
"Then up front, we've scored, which is pleasing but we could have had more and should have had more."
