Bernard McNally: AFC Telford financial announcement is great news
It was great to see another crowd of 1,800 and to hear on Tuesday that AFC Telford United reached their financial target for October, writes Bernard McNally.
People are looking from the outside and seeing the crowds improving – it's a good endorsement for the Bucks.
For Rob Smith to say that the performance level was there from his players was a good sign despite the 2-0 Salford defeat. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say you were beaten by a better side on the day.
It can be difficult for the fans to hear, but he'll genuinely feel that his side have given a good account of themselves. It's not very often a manager would say that after a 2-0 home defeat.
There has been a lot of turmoil at the club recently, but thankfully they've still picked up points.
There's a long way to go and it only takes a run of results for a side to be realistically looking at the top six.
Rob won't want to put pressure on his players. He'll do it discreetly and he knows as well as anybody the old adage – and I know it's boring for fans – but to take it every game at a time.
