Joe Fitzpatrick keen to remain with AFC Telford
Joe Fitzpatrick is determined to really show what he can do and secure his future at AFC Telford United.
The 19-year-old midfielder recently returned to the New Bucks Head until the end of the season after a spell at National League North rivals Boston United – who Telford faced today – and has impressed so far.
The ex-Mansfield youngster – who made three appearances in League Two for the Stags – is a player boss Rob Smith really believes in, having trained with the Bucks last summer and had a stint earlier in the season before signing a few weeks ago.
Having started the last three games before today’s trip to Boston, Fitzpatrick is appreciative of the chance to get all-important game time under his belt.
“All I want to do is get more and more minutes under my belt, keep playing games and get more experience,” he said.
“Hopefully I will be here next season. I’ve really enjoyed it, everyone has been really good to me, so I would like to be here next season, playing games and winning games.”
“That’s all you can really ask for and I really believe that I can affect games in this league and help Telford to win games.”
Fitzpatrick has played for three different National League North clubs this season – Worcester City, Telford and Boston – and made a total of 21 appearances.
Now, having made a good start to life back with the Bucks, he is looking to nail down a more permanent home for next campaign and said: “That’s the plan. Hopefully I can impress between now and the end of the season and do my bit as we look to pick up some results.
