Rob Smith proud of AFC Telford players after Stockport County draw
AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith insists he is 'really proud' of his players after picking up a hard-fought point at Stockport County.
The Bucks were robust, frustrating the hosts for large periods at a 4,261-strong Edgeley Park as Joel Dielna cancelled out Lewis Montrose's opener.
The result moves Telford seven points clear of the National League North drop zone, with three games left to play.
"We had a game plan. First and foremost, it was about trying to be tight at the back and I think we were, apart from an excellent finish from Montrose," said Smith.
"I think the players have executed it exactly how I wanted really, and it would have been a travesty for us to have lost that game.
"For once, we got what we deserved and maybe we deserved more. I was really proud of the performance to be honest."
