AFC Telford fixtures: Bucks facing Kidderminster Harriers in holiday double-header
AFC Telford boss Rob Edwards faces a Christmas and New Years double header against Kidderminster Harriers following the announcement of the National League North fixtures for 2017/18.
The ex-Wolves coach is set to embark upon his first season in charge of the Bucks following the exit of Rob Smith and Larry Chambers.
And the new boss faces a daunting start to his Bucks management, as he's tasked with a trip to highly-rated York City on the opening day of the season.
Edwards will have his first league game at the New Bucks Head the following week against Brackley Town, before a home clash with bookies favourites Salford City follows that in what's a congested August schedule.
Luca Havern will also return to the club he captained last season when the Bucks host Bradford Park Avenue on August 26th in what home fans will be hoping is not a nice return for the ex-skipper.
Telford face the prospect of 14 games in just nine weeks to begin the season, given that they secure passage through the 2nd and 3rd round qualifying rounds of the FA Cup.
Following that, a home clash with Boston United kicks off October, before lengthy trips to Gainsborough Trinity and North Ferriby United go back-to-back.
One of the fans' longest trips of the season takes place on December 2nd as Telford travel to Spennymoor Town, whilst the Bucks take on their closest opponents in Kidderminster on Boxing Day at home, and New Years day at Aggborough.
Trips to Salford and Harrogate and games against Curzon Ashton and Nuneaton run through the rest of January, before clashes with Southport, North Ferriby, Tamworth and FC United of Manchester go ahead in February.
Eyes then turn to the Bucks' run-in over the final months, with a return leg to Bradford Park Avenue and another long trip to Blyth Spartans highlighting the month of March.
Edwards' side then finish the campaign off with two home clashes in a row to start April, before a trip to Stockport County precedes the club's final home game of the season against Gainsborough.
Things are topped off with an away-day trip to Boston United.
Play-off fixtures are scheduled for May 2nd, 6th and 12th for qualifying, semi-finals and the final, should the Bucks be in a position to secure promotion.
