The Bucks secured their second pre-season victory in four games with a 5-0 rout at the home of the West Midlands Premier League outfit, with three late goals adding gloss to the win.

Impressive trialists Anthony Dwyer bagged a brace, while Ross White, Aaron Hayden and Kieran Dunbar also found the net.

After netting four against Haughmond in their first game, Telford had gone 180 minutes without netting in games against Aston Villa and Wolves under-23s.

The hosts, four leagues below Telford, matched their visitors for large parts of an even first-half.

"It was nice to get some goals, one of the things I asked before the game was to get goals to win the game because we haven't in the last couple," said the boss.

"It's important to build something and you need wins there.

"There were frustrating elements, we were sloppy at times and that's uncharacteristic of us so far from the three previous games and in training.

"We won the game 5-0, the lads worked very hard and tried to implement some of the stuff we told them so you've got to be pleased."

After shape work led by No.2 Sean Parrish in the warm-up, the Bucks lined up in a slightly changed system in Great Wyrley, with a more recognisable four-at-the-back formation.

Telford next welcome Hereford on Saturday at the New Bucks Head, where Edwards will offer a final opportunity for trialists to stake a claim at signing forms.

Winger Dwyer, who emerged from the bench at half-time, caught the eye with two fine goals and the boss was satisfied with how his side came out on top in their final third.

Edwards added: "It was pleasing the lads made the impact when they came on, lovely to score a few goals.

"I think the two first-half goals were pleasing, one set-piece - it's not to come out on top from set-pieces on scoring and conceding - that's a big plus.

"It was great to get three goals late on. We did look more of a threat, there had been more changes, some good bits and bits to work on."
