Ben Bailey leaves AFC Telford
AFC Telford United have announced the departure of defender Ben Bailey.
Bailey, aged 26, was a regular starter last season and was one of the first players to commit his future to the club earlier this summer, under Rob Smith.
After Smith was replaced as boss by former Wolves man Rob Edwards, though, the centre-half saw little game time over pre-season.
He informed Edwards of his decision to seek regular football elsewhere this morning.
Bailey said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, players and fans for making my time at AFC Telford one I will never forget.
"I have met some great people whilst being at the club and it has been a joy to play football at such a great set up.
"I have decided to move on, it was my own decision and the manager totally understands.
"I don’t feel I have had enough playing time this pre-season to show my best and do that I need be playing more.
"I wish the lads all the best in the upcoming season. I am sure they will all do well and represent the club as well as it deserves."
The club added: "Everyone at AFC Telford United would like to thank Ben for all his effort and we wish him all the very best in the future."
