Elliot Newby: We share AFC Telford fans' disappointment
Winger Elliot Newby insists the AFC Telford United squad were just as disappointed as the fans after their 4-1 defeat to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was one of the better performers for the Bucks on a day to forget, winning the sponsors' man of the match award.
He is raring to put things right as Telford head to Leamington today and said: "That's the positive, really. We have got the chance to go again.
"We are obviously really disappointed and, especially at home, that's not what we want to be doing.
"It's not what the fans deserve. It is disappointing from a fans' perspective, we understand that.
"We are as disappointed as they are. This game is really big for us."
After the game on Saturday, Newby took to Twitter and insisted he would try to sort a first-time Telford supporter with tickets for another game to 'show him we aren't as bad as he thinks'.
He insists they need to carry on sticking to the same principles and added: "We think we are a good team, it will happen.
"We have been good away from home, we feel like we can win it.
"It will come. Everyone is doing everything they can, we are all on the same page."
