Rob Edwards calls for unity at AFC Telford ahead of trip to Leamington

The Bucks go to the New Windmill Ground having been thrashed 4-1 at home by Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.

They were booed by some of the New Bucks Head faithful and Edwards wants his players to 'learn and improve' from the big defeat.

"The very good thing about football is that you have a chance to rectify things quickly," he said.

"There's a way we want to do things and I don't want to shy away from it.

"We have had a bad day at the office but I want to try to do it a certain way – we'll stick to that.

"Of course, you need the right blend and we are not there yet. We'll continue working.

"We have to learn and improve.

"The players have to stick together and show a bit of character, and be better than what we were on Saturday."

Telford are expected to make a few changes from the Avenue loss.

Curtis Strong, who got the assist for Marcus Dinanga's goal, could start.

Jack Rea (ankle), John Marsden (ankle) and Jordan Gough (hip) were left out of the squad on Saturday.

On whether those three, and Chekaine Steele (hamstring) will be involved, Edwards said: "There's a good chance there will be some changes as you need to freshen it up with the game coming so quick.

"There could be some changes. Jordan, there's a good chance. With Jack, we are still not sure.

"John, again, he is still feeling pain when he is running so he's probably a doubt.

"Chekaine is training but it's a tough one as he hasn't had any minutes yet.

"We have got to keep working with him, building him up."

One player who is set to be involved was midfielder Louis McGrory.

The 20-year-old ex-Forest Green Rovers man was signed on Friday and made his Bucks bow on Saturday.

On his debut, Edwards added: "It was a bit of a baptism of fire for him but he kept trying to get on the ball.

"He showed some character, he kept trying. He will get stronger and better as the games go on."
