AFC Telford boss Rob Edwards looking for determination at Nuneaton Town

The Bucks have won three out four National League North away games so far, but are fresh off a fourth straight home loss – a 3-2 defeat to Blyth Spartans on Saturday.

They have made a signing going into the clash, bringing in former Aston Villa midfielder Henry Cowans.

Recently released by the Championship side, he is set to be involved at Liberty Way and is the son of ex-Villa star Gordon Cowans, who was part of their 1982 European Cup winning squad.

Looking ahead to tonight's game, Edwards said: "We have shown that we have quality – that we can play and we can work hard.

"Football, in the end, is not about tactics.

"It is about heart, work rate and desire – and wanting it more than the opposition, then the rest of the game comes out.

"That's what we need to show tonight."

Telford conceded three goals in an awful first half on Saturday, but improved after the interval and nearly found an equaliser.

Edwards has urged his side to be at the races from the first whistle and said: "We have got to pick them up, and take positives from that second half performance – we have got to learn quickly.

"We can't start a game like we did on Saturday ever again."

A big positive for the Bucks is they are looking sharp going forward.

Marcus Dinanga is now on three goals for the season while strike partner Anthony Dwyer has impressed in the last couple of games and Elliot Newby opened his account on Saturday.

On having goals in the team, Edwards added: "There is at the moment, but the aim of the game is to score more than the opposition.

"And we didn't do that on Saturday.

"We have got to learn, pick ourselves up and go again tonight."

Meanwhile, Telford have been drawn at home against Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Barwell in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The tie will take place on Saturday September 16 (kick-off 3pm).

Also, Chekaine Steele has been let go after failing to make an appearance for the club.

The 20-year-old winger was signed earlier this summer but has been on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
