Ryan Wilson feels refreshed by AFC Telford move
New-boy Ryan Wilson insists his move to AFC Telford United has been ‘a breath of fresh air’.
The 24-year-old joined the Bucks from Matlock Town last week and made his debut, as a substitute, at Chorley last weekend.
He played twice against Telford for Alfreton Town in National League North last campaign, and said: “The lads here have made me feel really welcome.
“It has been a breath of fresh air.
“I’m one of the oldest, and I’m normally one of the youngest in teams so that makes a change.
“Hopefully I can pass on some of my experience but the lads here seem quite well-adapted to the league already.
“There has been a lot of changes here since I played against them for Alfreton.
“But it seems a great bunch and I will fight for my place as much as I can.”
Wilson will not be involved as Telford head to Stafford Rangers in the FA Cup on Saturday as he is cup-tied.
He played in Matlock’s 3-2 loss to Haughmond in the first qualifying round, and has his sights set on the visit of Boston United in the league on October 7.
“Unfortunately I am cup-tied,” added Wilson.
“I have got some good training sessions under my belt, though, and I am really looking forward to the game against Boston.”
