The 31-year-old former Wolves and Shrewsbury Town striker scored twice on his Bucks bow – Saturday’s 4-2 win against Droylsden in the FA Trophy.

He is looking to reignite his career under ex-Molineux team-mate Rob Edwards, and said: “I am delighted but it’s not just about me.

“I am delighted to have scored goals and delighted to play, but it’s about the team. On Saturday, we were good in spells – we won the game and everyone is delighted.

“The club are helping me and hopefully I can help the club.

“I am delighted to have started this way because it gives everyone confidence that I am coming here to do a proper job – I’m not just coming here to wind down my career.

“It’s a great start and I am delighted with that. That’s the plan, to keep on playing games, keep getting match fit and keep trying to knock them in and win games, more importantly.”

Ebanks-Blake was partnered up front by 20-year-old Marcus Dinanga – one of many talented youngsters in the Telford squad.

On his new team-mates, he said: “They are good, young players – good technical players that can handle the ball.

“They’ve just got to continue making the right decisions – good, early decisions – as that is what determines what level you play at.

“That’s a big reason why I signed here because, regardless of the level, the manager has got them playing a certain way and he believes in that philosophy.

“That was key to me coming here.”

Ebanks-Blake had plenty of Wolves supporters wishing him well on social media, following his brace on Saturday.

He spent five years at Molineux – from 2008 to 2013 – including three seasons in the Premier League.

The striker hopes some of the old gold faithful will come to watch him at the New Bucks Head soon, and added: “I have got a great affiliation with Wolves, it’s a club that is very, very close to my heart – as everyone knows.

“The fans were great with me there, I try to get down there (to Molineux) when I can.

“They are doing really well this season so I am delighted all-round.”
