The Bucks are facing a 460-mile round trip for an FA Trophy first-round tie, which was postponed on Saturday due to a frozen pitch.

But aside from the cup-tied Will Marsh and Jack Rea, who has only recently returned to training following long-term injury, Edwards expects to have every player available for the journey.

“We should have a full compliment of players available,” he said. “I’ve certainly not had any approach me and say they might be struggling.

“It’s not an ideal scenario but we just have to get on with it. In all honesty it has got to the stage where we just want to get playing again.”

Saturday’s postponement meant that for the third weekend in a row the Bucks were without a game. They have not kicked a ball in anger since the 4-2 FA Trophy win at Droylsden on November 25.

Players took part in a full training session on Saturday morning, before Edwards and assistant Sean Parrish watched Kidderminster beat holders York City 2-1 at Aggborough.

“We managed to get some FA Trophy action in but it was not the kind we wanted,” said Edwards.

“We told the players on Friday that if the game was off we would be in training so it was hardly a wasted weekend.

“Of course it is frustrating to have not played for more than three weeks but its beyond our control. All we can concentrate on is ensuring the team is in the best possible shape for when we return to action.”

Edwards confirmed midfielder Rea, who has not featured since August because of an ankle injury, will not be rushed back.

“It is great to see Jack back in training but it would be madness to think of involving him in a game at this stage,” said the boss.

“We still have more than half the season to play and he can still be a big influence on it. His time will come.”
