Rob Edwards targeting some new AFC Telford additions
Despite having a transfer window open for 10 months of the season, Rob Edwards has admitted he has one or two signings on his radar with other leagues windows opening next month.
Edwards’ side picked up a credible 1-1 draw with title chasers Brackley Town on Saturday, however he is on the lookout to potentially strengthen his squad.
He said: “For us it is upon until March, but other clubs players will be available next month.
“We are happy with what we have got, but you are always looking to improve as staff and was players.
“We will certainly be on the lookout, and have one or two targets but nothing to report on yet.”
After being without a league game without a month, Edwards’ men could have been forgiven for being a little sluggish on Saturday.
But they were far from it against the Saints, and took the lead through Marcus Dinaga’s penalty on the hour mark.
It was the on loan Burton Albion man’s 13th strike of the campaign, and Edwards praised his loan signing for his tireless work.
He also admitted Sylvan Ebanks-Blake’s experienced has proved valuable for the young Dinaga.
He said: “He has got 13 goals now and it is important to get someone in the high teens and maybe the 20s.
“Today he worked hard and did some great work up there and took the penalty well.
“Sylvan has been very valuable for everyone, but we are having to manage him as he hasn’t played a lot of football in recent years.
“He is itching to play, however we need to keep him fit with this period of games coming up, but his knowledge and quality have been really important.”
His backline were also in for fine praise, as they held out until late on, but still picked up a point.
Edwards added: “I am delighted with the point to take into Boxing Day.
“It was a great draw, I think Salford would have been happy to come here and get a point.”
