The Bucks’ scheduled home clash with Curzon Ashton on Saturday did not go ahead due to a waterlogged pitch.

Edwards’ side have had two of their last three games at the New Bucks Head postponed, and also had tomorrow’s planned trip to Spennymoor Town called off because of the Moors’ FA Trophy commitments.

“There’s a big element of frustration,” admitted Edwards.

“The more games that we don’t play, the more our league position is affected.

“We’re dropping down the table a bit now, through no real fault of our own.

“We’ve won one, drawn two and lost one over our last four league games – and that is not bad. We’re just having to play catch-up.

“We can only control the controllables, you can’t control the weather. There’ll be a lot of Saturdays and Tuesdays coming up.

“We’ve got more games to play than everyone else in the league, it’s something we’ve got to deal with.”

Telford are now 16th in the National League North table – two points above the relegation zone.

They have played 22 games – winning eight, drawing three and losing 11 – and have games in hand on most of the teams around them.

But Edwards would sooner have points on the board than games in hand.

“Those are the challenges that we face now. We have a couple of games in hand, but we’ve still got to and get the results,” he said.

“Obviously we’d have rather played. But it is what it is, and we have to deal with it.”

The one silver lining for Edwards is that his squad will be fresh for the trip to top-of-the-table Salford City on Saturday.

The Class of ‘92-owned side are two points clear at the top of the table.

They beat the Bucks 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in August.

“It does give us that full week. We will prepare well and go there with a game plan to try to pick up the three points,” added Edwards.

“We’ll have a good few training sessions going into it.

“Saying that, though, games in the build-up to a big game are just as good, if not better.”
