Bernard McNally: AFC Telford boss must try to instil belief

I PREDICTED AFC Telford would do well to get a point from the Salford and York City matches and – pessimistic as it was – sadly I was proved right.

Rob Edwards cut a despondent figure after Tuesday's 5-3 defeat against York

Tuesday’s 5-3 goal-fest at the New Bucks Head went the way of visitors York and left boss Rob Edwards feeling notably down when listening to his post-match thoughts.

The Bucks are now 19th, one place and point above the drop zone, and Edwards sounded extremely down after the defeat, taking the blame on his shoulders despite individual mistakes meaning the hosts were 4-1 down at the break.

Rob must find it within himself and the group to lift his squad and try to instil belief in them that they can claw themselves away from that perilous position.

This home game against Nuneaton, who are just two points better off themselves, is crucial. The Bucks secured a fine 2-0 win at the full-time outfit back in September, so hopefully they can take confidence from that.
