AFC Telford boss Rob Edwards up for the survival fight
AFC Telford United returned to work today following the big freeze with boss Rob Edwards aiming to use this week as a springboard for survival.
The inclement weather which gripped the country left the Bucks unable to train on either Thursday or Friday.
But with conditions easing, Edwards will aim to rally his players ahead of tomorrow night’s Shropshire FA Huddersfield Cup tie at Market Drayton and Saturday’s National League North clash at home to Spennymoor.
With the Bucks three points adrift of safety, it is the latter fixture which takes clear priority but Edwards acknowledges wins or any form can help build confidence.
“We have to try and use Tuesday and Saturday. Of course we were frustrated after last week’s defeat to Nuneaton but we must keep looking forward.
“It’s still really tight at the bottom of the table. I accept others might be doom and gloom but we can’t afford to see it that way. We have to stay positive and keep believing in ourselves.”
