The Bucks are third bottom in National League North but fresh off a 1-0 win at Alfreton Town on Tuesday night.

Edwards was delighted with the commitment shown at the Impact Arena, and wants his charges to ‘back it up’ at the New Bucks Head.

“Nothing needs to change as I was delighted with the performance on Tuesday,” he said.

“We want people to do it for the team, do it for the club – and we saw that the other day. We won the game and we deserved to win the game.

“But it’s just one game. You have to back it up and do it against Darlington, at home. The fans deserve to see that kind of performance at home, that effort and that commitment.

“We’ve told the players that they have to go and back it up. It’s about building on it.”

The Quakers come to town on a four-game unbeaten run, 11th in the table.

“They’ve got goals in them. They have Reece Styche, a big striker who was at Tamworth,” said Edwards.

“We know what we have to do. It’s about going out there and giving more of the same.

“It’s just about going out and doing it, not just talking about it.”

Meanwhile, Edwards has not yet looked into whether they could sign goalkeeper Ben Wilson on a permanent basis in the summer.

Wilson is on loan from Cardiff City until the end of this season and made some top-drawer saves in the Alfreton victory.

He has made a total of seven appearances since arriving from the Championship outfit.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper has previously had loan spells at AFC Wimbledon, Rochdale and Oldham Athletic.

His contract with the Bluebirds expires in the summer.

“Ben did really well the other night and it helps having someone who can train with the lads day in and day out,” added Edwards.

“He did great but, at the end of the day, he just did his job – keeping the ball out of the net.

“We can’t look at that, at the moment. With the situation we’re in, we have to look at the short term.

“Ben is a great player and we will always want to have players like that to be here with us, but we can’t look that far ahead.”
