Bernard McNally column: Schedule is tough on AFC Telford United
Rob Edwards will need to utilise his AFC Telford squad for four games in seven days.
That kind of schedule could lead to injuries. I had a period of four games in eight days with the Bucks and there were a few injuries. It was a major problem.
After tomorrow’s difficult trip to eighth-placed Blyth, the Bucks host Leamington, Spennymoor and Chorley on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
This is when you need squad rotation. Telford do have options but key injuries are not what they want at this point.
I am a little bit wary for them in all honesty – a little bit frightened on their behalf.
Hopefully Rob will pick and choose the games to use the required players.
If I was manager of a club set to play four games in seven days, then I really would not relish it.
Teams are only used to playing three-game weeks maximum. The extra 90 minutes can be exhausting and take it out of you.
