Elliot Newby scored a penalty for the Bucks late on, after his twin brother Alex and Marcus Carver took the Magpies' only major chances.

Rob Edwards' are 20th in the table, adrift on goal difference, with six games to go.

Analysis

There was a lot of doubts as to whether the game would go ahead as several volunteers were forking the wet New Bucks Head pitch through the morning to the afternoon.

Confirmation it was on finally came 40 minutes prior to kick-off, with the turnstiles then opened.

The away side struggled to get into a rhythm on the boggy surface, the Bucks dealt with the conditions better and forced Matt Urwin into a few saves. Not a great period of football, but Edwards would have been pleased with what he saw. His charges were comfortable.

Telford continued to look the brighter outfit after the restart. Amari Morgan-Smith headed straight at Urwin after a fine Ryan Giles cross, but they then seemed to just run out of steam.

In the battle of the Newbys, Chorley attacker Alex made his mark with a cool left-footed finish.

The hosts made a couple of substitutions in an effort to salvage something, but the Magpies soon doubled their advantage through Carver.

Bucks forward Newby replied from the spot - following a foul on Kane Richards - as Edwards' charges were left frustrated, failing to build on Thursday's 3-2 triumph against Spennymoor Town.

Key Moments

70 - Goal! Telford 0-1 Chorley. Alex Newby beats Paul Bignot to a long ball and slots under Bucks goalkeeper Ben Wilson, grazing the inside of the post on its way in.

82 - Goal! Telford 0-2 Chorley. Marcus Carver finishes, on the turn, from close range. Sloppy defending.

85 - Penalty to Telford as Kane Richards is nudged over by Stephen Jordan.

86 - GOAL! Elliot Newby converts from the spot for the Bucks, with his low shot squeezing past Urwin and into the corner.

Man of the Match

Ryan Giles - Was not in the stunning form which saw him rip apart Spennymoor on Thursday, but he was the Bucks' most adventurous player. He put in some very good crosses and was not afraid to shoot, more so in the first half. 7/10
