Watford hotshot Troy Deeney was on hand for the event at Wellington Cricket Club, to lend some support to his younger brother Ellis who is a midfielder for the Bucks.

Ellis and his team-mates won't be switching sport any time soon, though, as they were beaten 118 runs to 80 by the supporters' side.

Boss Gavin Cowan and assistant Phil Trainer were also present for the festivities on Sunday.

Deeney was not the only top-flight star involved with a bit of cricket in the county over the weekend as Manchester City shot-stopper Joe Hart pitched up for his hometown club, Shrewsbury.

He scored six runs and claimed a catch in the winning draw against Knowle & Dorridge on Saturday, while England beat Sweden 2-0 in the quarter finals of the World Cup.

Hart has 75 Three Lions caps but was left out of the squad for Russia by Gareth Southgate after a disappointing campaign on loan at West Ham.

It was his first time playing competitively for Shrewsbury since 2007.
