The Bucks ran out 4-0 winners at Market Drayton Town last night, with James McQuilkin, Daniel Udoh, Ellis Deeney and Adam Dawson getting the goals. It followed a 6-0 victory over Ellesmere Rangers on Saturday.

“It’s another near perfect night for us in the sense we’ve got a result, which is not at the hierarchy of importance at the moment but it’s always nice to get that,” said Cowan.

“The main thing is that we’ve got another good workout.

"Darryl Knights had a twinge in his back but it’s not anything we foresee to be a problem moving forward.

“We’ve had quite an intense pre-season and, after the game, they’re another session along.

“It’s been good. I’m more pleased than anything that they have come through it as the pitch was poor – it had dried out it and was very bobbly, with not much grass on it. I’m happy.”

Cowan took a look at several trialists in the triumph at Greenfields including former Drayton winger Joe Cuff, goalkeeper Jono Brown and left-back Tyler Lyttle - son of former Nottingham Forest and West Brom man Des Lyttle.
