Pre-season: Barwell 1 AFC Telford 0 - Report
An Owen Story strike was the difference as AFC Telford United fell to a friendly defeat at Barwell.
Story netted just into the second half for the Kirkby Road outfit – w ho are going to be in the new Southern League Central this coming season, one tier below the Bucks.
The first half was low on chances.
Amari Morgan-Smith thought he had put Gavin Cowan’s side in front on the half-hour mark but there was a foul before he found the net.
Trialist Tyler Lyttle tried his best to create a chance for Telford before the break but his cross was just too powerful for Matthew Barnes-Homer to get on the end of.
Following Story’s goal, Cowan rang the changes in a bid to grab an equaliser.
Darryl Knights had a great opportunity to get a leveller for the Bucks but he fired wide from eight yards following Andre Brown’s cutback.
Telford have now played four pre-season friendlies – winning two, losing two.
