Kit manufacturer Hummel have accepted the blame for the blunder which has also caused frustration for fans who had pre-ordered online.

A pre-season photo shoot, scheduled for last night (Thursday), also had to be scrapped.

In a statement, the Bucks claim they placed an order for the with Hummel and Hortonwood-based Fortis Sport more than 15 weeks ago, with a delivery expected to take place within eight weeks of that date.

But despite assurances things were on schedule, they are still left waiting.

The statement read: “The information has come as a huge disappointment especially as we received a confirmation letter from Hummel UK on July 12 ensuring that the home kit would be delivered within the allocated deadline that was set.”

“We understand several supporters have placed pre orders for their home shirt and we share their frustration that they will not be receiving their home shirt prior to the start of the season.”

A statement from Hummel UK read: “Hummel would like to sincerely apologize to AFC Telford and Fortis Sports that we have been unable to complete the delivery of your new Bespoke Home jersey for Season 2018/19 in the timescale previously notified.

“We are working tirelessly with the factory to ensure that this additional delay is as short as possible, and a further update will be made early next week.”
