Beating Liam Watson’s Southport and drawing at Kidderminster is a really positive start for AFC Telford.

The supporters seem to be on board and that’s positive for them. Obviously Gav’s in this locality anyway and he knows players, as does Phil Trainer, who’s got a lot of experience himself in non-league.

What they’re doing at the moment is working. Those are two tremendous results – what a start to the season!

I think they’re both, lets face it, young managers and coaches so they’ll be keen and wanting to improve and let’s hope that that’s the way it goes and moves forwards so I wish them both well.

There were good attendances at the New Bucks Head and a great following at Kiddy. That’s pleasing and if the fans can associate with the manager and the coach then that’s a big bonus. Straight away there’s that link between the fans and the staff so let’s just hope that continues.
