The Bucks drew 2-2 at Leamington yesterday, extending their unbeaten run to seven games in National League North.

They have won all three at home, winning one and drawing three on the road, and Cowan said on an awesome August: “When I go into the changing room and the lads are all really disappointed, heads down, I just say to them ‘we’re seven games unbeaten’.

“We’ve got 15 points – and they predicted it. The players said that’s where they wanted to be, they wanted to win all their home games and have 15 points on the board (by the end of the month) so they’ve achieved that.

“They should be proud of themselves. I’m certainly proud of them, for the first seven games."

Telford are now on 15 points. It took them 10 games to reach that tally last season so there are certainly signs of progress being made by the Bucks.

"I think it’s just a mark of where we’re at as a team, mentally and physically, when we come off from an away game, draw 2-2, and are disappointed.” said Cowan.

"It’s a good place to be.” The lads are a bit disappointed in themselves for the result, but they should be proud of their efforts.

“We’re a new group. We’re seven games in and we’ve learned an awful lot in those seven games so I’m optimistic moving forward. It’s been a brilliant seven games.”

Cowan made five changes for the draw with the Brakes and reacting to the result, he added: “The squad has to have strength in depth and the players came in and performed for the most part.

“The lads came in and all of them, to a man, did well. It just shows the strength in depth that we’ve got and how we’re able to adapt.

“I’m really happy with that side of it. There was a lot of elements I was happy with during the game.

“The lads stood up to a really stern test from Leamington, who are not pretty on the eye."
