Gavin Cowan delighted with AFC Telford comeback victory
Gavin Cowan has praised AFC Telford United for the 'unbelievable character and togetherness' they showed to beat Ashton.
Cowan's charges won 2-1 against the National League North newcomers, making it four victories from four at the New Bucks Head.
"It's a pleasing win. Obviously, three points at any time of the season are really pleasing," said the Bucks chief.
"I felt as though we were completely in control.
"What they've done, Ashton, and this is not a criticism, is come here to spoil it.
"They had shipped 17 goals before this game and I know their manager really well – they made it difficult.
"They went for a 4-1-4-1 as opposed to a 4-2-3-1, just to really shore it up and make sure we didn't get anything.
"They tried to quieten the crowd, which they did at one point, and they were doing the game management stuff – going down at the right times."
Telford were 1-0 down at half time but came out on top thanks to Daniel Udoh's brace.
"To overcome that first half and for the lads to keep going shows unbelievable character and togetherness," added Cowan.
"It was a different test for us and one that we stood up to brilliantly."
