The Bucks lost 2-1 in the third qualifying round tie at Cantilever Park.

Cowan's charges have now suffered back-to-back defeats - and have picked up just one win from their last five games.

"It's very disappointing. It's hard to put my finger on what the problem is," he said.

"It stings but it's about our reaction. It's about the reaction from the players in training this week for the forthcoming fixture against Chorley.

"It is quite a strange scenario, really.

"When you start as well as we did, you intend to carry that on – and I believed I had the right characters to do that.

"We were brilliant out of possession in the first half but, again, we switch off and concede right on half time. Goals change games, don't they?"

Telford missed out on £15,000 with the loss.

"It's back-to-back defeats and this one stings as it's money for the football club – and we know what situation we're in financially," added Cowan.

"It stings a lot and I feel sorry for the chairman and the board as the money would have helped a great deal."
