AFC Telford United sign Burton Albion striker Marcus Dinanga on permanent deal
AFC Telford United have reached an agreement with Burton Albion for the permanent transfer of last season's top scorer Marcus Dinanga.
The 21-year-old scored 25 goals across all competitions last season for the Bucks on loan from the Brewers and will be eligible to play for Telford tomorrow against Spennymoor Town.
Dinanga's deal means he is contracted to stay at New Bucks Head until 2020.
Speaking to the club website, manager Gavin Cowan expressed his delight in securing the signature of a player who he has 'kept such a close eye on'.
“Marcus is someone who of course I know very well and someone who I believe can contribute to what we are trying to do at this football club at the moment," he said.
"We have secured Marcus ahead of many others so it’s a testament to our relationship an what he thinks about AFC Telford United that he is returning.
"I hope our supporters both new and old will come out and get behind Marcus and the other players from now until the end of the season”
An academy graduate with Burton, Dinanga been on loan with Hartlepool United during the first half of this season but after failing to find the net in 17 appearances his loan was ended.
“I am delighted to have signed for AFC Telford United," said Dinanga to the club's site.
"It feels really good to be back and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and to start scoring goals again for this club."
