Gavin Cowan delighted with AFC Telford's 'domination' of Southport

AFC Telford United boss Gavin Cowan says their 'complete domination' at Southport was the result of extensive research.

Telford dominated the game, said Cowan.

The Bucks beat former chief Liam Watson's Sandgrounders 4-0 at Haig Avenue, with Jon Royle, Marcus Dinanga, Daniel Udoh and Ellis Deeney getting the goals.

It was a sublime performance from Cowan's side, who are fifth in National League North, and he said: "It was complete domination. I suppose the game-plan worked, everything we worked on in the week.

"That's why we do the work as staff, why we do so much intel, work on stats and watch games.

"We do a lot of work behind the scenes, and it's great for the players to see that come to fruition.

"We do our due diligence. We work very hard and the players are really appreciative of that.

"And what I ask in return from them is attitude and application. They've gone over the white line and done that, and that's all I could've asked for.

"It's been a good day all-round, really."
