AFC Telford still hopeful over Henry Cowans

The 22-year-old, who Bucks boss Gavin Cowan earlier this term described as the non-league David Beckham, sustained the injury in the recent 4-3 win at Ashton United.

And he is now expected to miss several weeks of action.

“Unfortunately, Henry is out for a number of weeks now,” said Cowan.

“It’s a bit of a write-off for now.

“He’s not a player who has started every week for us this season, but that’s just been in a tactical sense.

“Whenever he has come in and been involved, he’s been phenomenal, so it’s disappointing we’re not going to have him available for selection for a while.”

Cowans – son of Villa legend, Gordon – has appeared in 28 of Telford’s 31 National League North games so far this season, starting 22.

He has scored three goals along the way and is now doing rehab work with Aaron Lambley, who used to be at Shrewsbury and recently became Bucks physio.

“Aaron has got him now and he’s working extremely hard,” added Cowan.

“You work as hard as when you’re playing, just in a different way.

“Hopefully, Henry can play a part before the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, tickets for both legs of the FA Trophy semi-final against Leyton Orient have gone on sale.

Just over 100 tickets for the trip to Brisbane Road have been sold so far.

“I imagine there’ll be an awful lot more than that. I’m loving the support we’re getting at the moment,” said Cowan.
