The 20-year-old, from The Rock, temporarily lost the sight in his left eye after a collision with Jonathan Wafula in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Boston United.

He was seen by an eye specialist in Lincoln and has since received treatment at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital.

And Bucks boss Gavin Cowan said: “He’s been to the hospital again and he needs a bit of bed rest.

“There’s still a bit of blood in his eye but, on the whole, he’s doing well.

“We’ll know more this time next week but, as it stands, we’re holding hope that Andy will be involved against Leyton Orient.”

If Wycherley does not make a full recovery for the game, Telford may have to dip into the emergency loan market for a shot-stopper.

For now, focus is firmly on tonight’s National League North clash against Darlington.

Josef Bursik, who is cup-tied in the Trophy because of playing for Hednesford in the earlier rounds, will be between the sticks tonight as the Bucks aim to keep up their play-off chase by beating the Quakers.

“We’re looking forward to it,” added Cowan. “We’ve had the players in for recovery at Love2Live Fitness, which we’re thankful for, so they’re all prepared.

“We’ve played them twice already this season but this is a fresh battle.

“We can’t dwell on that 3-0 loss away in the league and the 1-0 win up there in the Trophy as things change game-to-game.”
