Telford hope to welcome fans
AFC Telford United have reached out to the National League and Hereford in a bid to welcome back supporters next week.
The Bucks are due to welcome the Bulls to the New Bucks Head next Tuesday, but Telford are keen to delay the National League North fixture 24 hours to permit fans’ entrance.
England’s second national lockdown is set to end at midnight next Tuesday, but the government has ruled that elite sport, including football, can welcome supporters back after that, dependant on the tier status they fall into.
Telford have asked Hereford and the National League for permission to move the home fixture to the Wednesday night.
The fixture delay looks unlikely at the moment but the Bucks remain hopeful of the green light from their visitors and permission from league bosses.
Fans have not been in the New Bucks Head since March. Regions are set to discover which tier they are in later today.
