Williams, a centre-forward, and central defender Meppen-Walters are the first two existing players to be confirmed as not retained by manager Gavin Cowan.

Former Brackley and Peterborough striker Williams, 27, spent two seasons at the New Bucks Head, both of which were terminated early due to the pandemic.

He struck 12 league goals in 43 appearances in National League North.

The frontman departs the Bucks at the end of the two-year deal he penned with the club in 2019.

Former National North title-winner Meppen-Walters, 26, who has a winner’s medal from his time at former club Chorley, has left the club after just one season.

The stopper managed just seven league games out of 17 played by Cowan’s men before the campaign was null and voided.

Left-footed centre-half Meppen-Walters missed a chunk of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Lee Vaughan, James Hardy and Jordan Davies – whose contracts were ended allowing the trio to join National League clubs after the season was curtailed – are not expected to return to the New Bucks Head.

Experienced full-back Vaughan moved on to Barnet, creative midfielder Hardy joined Altrincham and Welsh striker Davies moved to King’s Lynn.
