Aston Villa receive injury boost ahead of Manchester City clash
Villa have been boosted by the return to fitness of Leon Bailey ahead of Saturday’s clash with Manchester City.
The winger, who scored the only goal when Villa beat City last December, is back in the squad after recovering from the hamstring injury which saw him miss the last three matches.
Defender Tyrone Mings is also available following the illness which caused his late withdrawal from last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest.
Villa boss Unai Emery, meanwhile, is hopeful Jacob Ramsey will return to training in the coming days. The midfielder has been out since suffering a hamstring injury in a 2-0 defeat at Liverpool last month.
Villa enter the weekend sat seventh in the Premier League table, two points behind a City team which has lost eight of its last 11 matches in all competitions.
"It’s a very tough match and a very exciting match for us,” said Emery. “The motivation of playing Manchester City at home for our supporters as well is going to be great."
