Market Drayton Town's cup win ratified
Market Drayton Town have kept hold of the TJ Vickers trophy after a Shropshire FA hearing cleared them of fielding an ineligible player.
Town beat Shawbury United 1-0 to retain the trophy in the final at Greenhous Meadow on May 2.
It was then suggested that the victors may have fielded a player that had been sent-off in an under-21 match.
But, following an FA hearing, the Evo-Stik First Division South outfit’s victory has been rubber-stamped after Andre James’ strike settled the game in their favour.
Martin Davies’ side claimed the win in front of 241 spectators.
