Boss Dave Richards, whose side secured survival in their debut step five term on the final day to eventually finish 19th, has moved to tie down a number of last season’s squad.

Ian Harvard, Keanu Cooper, Kieran Dovey have all agreed terms with the north Shropshire side.

They will line up at Ludlow Football Stadium – where the club will now play their home fixtures – alongside another host of retained players including Liam Armstrong, Josh Thomas and Liam Taylor.

Bynx Wellings, Josh Webb and Tom Worthington have also committed to the club.

Richards has so far added ex-Walsall Wood player Ben Daniels and former Shifnal man Jordan Jones to the first-team squad, while they hope to agree extensions with existing players Owen Lloyd and Adam Groom.

The club also revealed they were confident of securing a high-profile new signing in the coming days.

United face seven pre-season clashes, beginning against Wolverhampton Casuals at Hanwood on July 8 (3pm).
