It will be the Shrewsbury club’s fourth FA Cup match of the season following victories over Wolverhampton Sporting Community, Bedworth United and Matlock Town. Striker Steve Hole completed his hat-trick by grabbing a late winner as Haughmond knocked out a Matlock team from two divisions higher in the last round at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Facing Boston, currently in the lower reaches of the National League with 11 points from as many games, will be another step up in the quality of the opposition, but Burton and his players are excited about the challenge.

“It’s about us on the day, it’s not about them really,” Burton said. “It’s about us going and staying switched on, staying organised, being hard to beat and hopefully going and creating some chances. If we do that we have to make sure we take one or two.

“They’re going to have players with a wealth of experience and have players that are getting paid a lot of money to perform at that level.”

Boston are managed by former Mansfield boss Adam Murray and their squad includes a number of ex-Football League players, among them former Carlisle and Preston striker Karl Hawley and ex-Fleetwood midfielder Jamie McGuire.
