Haughmond will face Shrewsbury Town old-boys
Haughmond resume their quest to pull clear of the Midland League Premier Division relegation zone tonight against a high-flying Highgate United side which could feature two former Shrewsbury Town men.
Steve Leslie, who played more than 100 Football League games for Town, and striker Marco Adaggio, who made his league debut for Town on the same day as Joe Hart, both lined up for third-placed Highgate as they beat Haughmond 4-1 last week, writes Stuart Dunn.
Haughmond, who remain in the bottom two, will be hoping for a much more favourable outcome in tonight’s quick rematch at Shrewsbury Sports Village.
Haughmond took an early lead in front of a big crowd of nearly 1,000 in their last match at Bromsgrove Sporting last weekend – but the table-toppers hit back to win 3-1 to leave Matt Burton’s men with six games to try to preserve their Premier Division status.
