A fantastic turnout of fans on Saturday helped Town do what was needed – comfortably beating Oxford 3-0.

Fans' attention was also on Wycombe's game, and although falling behind, they had too much for Southend to grab the final automatic promotion position by one point.

It means Town now face their third play-off campaign in recent years and will be hoping to go one better than their previous two defeats in the final.

This time, however, we probably go in to the play-offs as favourites and the form side.

On paper we should be very confident of getting promoted, but this counts for nothing, especially in the final which is a one-off game.

Attention now turns to Saturday's away trip to Torquay where we will be hoping to take something out of the game to take back to Shropshire.

Despite excellent early season form, Torquay only just scraped into the play-offs.

Town go into the game with just one defeat in 10, including five clean sheets in a row, which should give fans a lot of optimism.

Another positive is we finished 11 points above them in the league.

A word of caution though. This is a team who we have failed to beat in the league this season and it is not all that long ago when we lost 5-0 to them away.

This will count for nothing come Saturday and hopefully the players won't let Saturday's disappointment affect them going into the game.

One final thought. Don't let Jake Robinson play against us on Saturday, Mr Turner.

If he does I can see the headlines now.
