Shrewsbury Town today revealed ticket plans for their potential promotion-decider at AFC Wimbeldon – after confirming they will receive an allocation of just 651 for the final day clash.

Town's first-ever trip Kingsmeadow on May 5 may prove one of the most important games in their recent history and could be crucial to the hopes of Graham Turner's side of sealing automatic promotion to League One.

A limited allocation was always likely, but that has been further reduced due to ground improvements being carried out at the home of the Football League's newest addition.

That has left Shrewsbury officials with a headache over how best to distribute the small allocation, and has led to lengthy dialogue with supporters' club chiefs in an attempt to ensure fans who regularly follow the club away from home are guaranteed a ticket.

"This has been a very difficult game to plan for as we are fully aware that demand for tickets will outstrip supply," said club secretary Jayne Bebb.

"When the fixtures were arranged, we should have received 761 away tickets for the game. But, due to essential ground improvements, this number has now been reduced to 651.

"The club has tried to be as fair as possible in the allocation of tickets, with priority given to the regular 200-300 away supporters that we know of through our ticketing system."

It is understood Town will receive 625 terrace spaces and 26 seats.

Tickets go on sale at 8am next Thursday for members of the Away Travel Club and the Official Supporters' Club who have been contacted by their respective organisations.

Season ticket holders get their chance on Friday, with supporters with 20 or more loyalty points eligible for tickets from Monday, April 23.

Should any remain, they will go on general sale 24 hours later.
