Reuben Hazell confident Shrewsbury Town will bounce back
Experienced defender Reuben Hazell has urged Shrewsbury Town not to lose confidence after back-to-back League One defeats.
Town followed up last week's 3-2 defeat at Notts County by being edged out 1-0 at home to Scunthorpe on Saturday.
But Hazell insists it's vital everybody remains upbeat ahead of tomorrow's visit of Coventry.
"It's important we don't dwell on it, go into our shells, lose confidence and people start not wanting the ball," said the 33-year-old.
"That's an ingredient for a bad run. We have to get going again and stay positive.
"We can't feel sorry for ourselves. The fans have got to stay positive, just like the club are.
"It's a long season so let's just get going again."
Hazell admitted Shrewsbury could have few complaints at seeing their 34-match unbeaten home run ended by Scunthorpe courtesy of Leon Clarke's early goal.
"To lose the home record like that was disappointing," added defender Hazell.
"We didn't start the game well and then we were playing catch-up against a team who needed points themselves.
"We will have to assess it and dust ourselves down because the games come thick and fast now."
Meanwhile, Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill believes Shrewsbury will make a success of their first campaign back in League One – despite continuing his fine record in Shropshire.
Knill was the last manager to win at the Greenhous Meadow before this weekend in March 2011 when in charge of Bury, and repeated the trick on Saturday.
"It's a really tough place to come and I think it's a fantastic club," he added.
"I was at Bury for a long time and came here many times.
"I always get the same feeling which is it's a really well-run club that knows where it's at, knows what it has to do and competes really well and I think they will do that in League One."
