Shrews boss declares justice is done on red card
Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner today declared justice has been done by the overturning of David McAllister's red card.
The Irishman, who is now available for selection for tomorrow's trip to Walsall, was dismissed in the first half of Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat against Doncaster.
The angry Town manager lodged an immediate appeal with supporting DVD evidence and an independent regulatory commission rescinded the red card at an FA hearing yesterday.
"Justice has been done and we are pleased that he has been rescinded," said Turner today.
"There was never any doubt in my mind that they would overturn the card as it was a diabolical decision and we paid the price for it.
"It's hard enough to play Doncaster with 11 men but to go down to 10 men put us under pressure."
There have been several high-profile cases recently where appeals against red cards have been successful.
It including that of Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, who was controversially sent off after challenging Arsenal's Jack Wilshere.
The McAllister decision continues that trend and will be a welcome boost ahead of the Saddlers clash.
Turner added: "It wasn't even a foul when you looked at it after freezing the frame of the DVD. Dave was making contact with the ball."
While McAlister is on board for the Banks's Stadium trip, Town have a doubt over loan Sheffield United striker Chris Porter, who has a slight hamstring strain.
