The out-of-favour striker, who joined Graham Turner's side from Portsmouth earlier this season, followed up his recent double for the second-string with a second-half goal against the Millers' reserves yesterday afternoon.

Defender Yado Mambo, who is on loan from Championship side Charlton Athletic, and striker Tom Bradshaw were also on target in the second period as an experienced Salop side, which included an unnamed trialist at left-back, cruised to victory over their Yorkshire visitors.

First-team boss Graham Turner would also have been pleased to see defender Jermaine Grandison complete a 44-minute run-out as he recovers from a pelvic injury.

The victory took Shrewsbury Reserves' win tally in their current Central League campaign to a total of five wins from eight games.

The Shropshire side have previously defeated Oldham Athletic twice as well as Morecambe and Chesterfield this season. But they have been defeated by Burton Albion, Hull City and Port Vale.
